LFCC GOLF on Facebook

Newsletter

With the arrival of the holiday season, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the honor of serving another year as your golf professional. My family and I take great pride in representing LFCC and its wonderful membership.

December will be a busy month here at the Club, hope you are able to enjoy some of the festive events, or just a little good cheer with family and friends.

Late Season Golf: November provided us with some fantastic weather for golf, and I was happy to see so many of you able to capitalize on the favorable conditions. The course remains beautiful, and I’m hoping December will offer us more of the same.

I’m happy to report, we will continue offering our fall Green Fee special: 18 holes for $35, 9 holes for $20. This offer is too good to pass up, so rally up a few friends and come on out and ENJOY a few more rounds.

Please be aware that with the colder nights, the chance of morning frost is heightened. If frost exists, please avoid walking or driving on any areas of turf resulting in damage to the surface. Damage that occurs this late in the year lasts well into spring.

Congratulations: Since the last newsletter, Greta Siemsen heads the list of golf heroics thanks to her recent Hole-In-One. Greta recorded her “ace” on hole #3 at the Crown Colony Country Club, Fort Myers, Florida. Also of note, Rick Holiner holed his second shot on hole #5 for an eagle 2.

If you have knowledge of a golf story/heroic that you would like to share with the membership, let me know and I will be happy to put it in an upcoming newsletter.

Thank You: If you participated in any of our various events this season, thank you. If your schedule was too busy to join us for an occasional event, thank you for coming out and just enjoying some casual golf with us. We look forward to having you join in on the FUN in 2010.

The golf committee provided tremendous support and direction for the golf program this year. I would like to personally thank Bill Riley (Chair), Joe Giuliani, Ray Heinrich, Doris Higgins, Debbie Millage, Mark Miller, Laurel Tucker, Craig Vedvik, Steve Wanzek and Mike Zopf. Many of these individuals also provided leadership chairing event sub-committees to provide you with an exceptional variety of events. Thank you all!

Correction: The December calendar incorrectly lists the Golf Shop being closed on December 13th, we will be open 9am to 4pm.

Golf Shop Sale: With new men’s and women’s selections arriving and prices up to 60%* off, now is a great time to stop by and browse our bargains for those special people on your holiday list. From shirts to shoes, bags to balls, clubs to gloves, there is something for everyone. With plenty of parking, no traffic worries and familiar faces to assist you, the Tim Buscombe Golf Shop is a nice alternative to fighting the crowds.

Guest Pass / Gift Idea: LFCC is happy to announce the addition of advanced purchase Green Fees at substantial savings. Available is groups of six rounds ($260), nine rounds ($375) and twelve rounds ($475), these Green Fees guest passes make a nice gift for individuals on your list, or just for yourself. Each of these packages is an excellent value based upon the regular Green Fee being $50, with the best value coming in the twelve-play package (a savings of $120).

In addition to the per golfer savings, packages purchased before December 25th qualify for February billing, while packages purchased after December 25, 2009 and before April 15, 2010 receive April billing.

These Green Fee guest packages will not be available after April 15, 2010, and must be used in the 2010 calendar year. Any units not used in the 2010 calendar year will become null and void.

Men’s League Golfers: As I prepare the Men’s Wednesday Night League program for 2010, I need your help. Please contact your partner from the 2009 season and confirm whether or not you are planning to team up again in 2010. Once you have confirmed (one way or another), please email me with your plans. Your email response will not bind you for the 2010 season; however, it will greatly assist me in planning as well as assist your fellow members on the waiting list.

Also, anyone interested in being added to the regular substitute list, please contact me via phone or email. Participating on a week-to-week basis offers a wonderful opportunity to get to meet many of your fellow members and enjoy a little extra time on the course each week. The competition is light, the camaraderie tremendous and the food and spirits afterwards, always excellent.

My email address is: buscombegolf@aol.com

Credit Book Monies: Please be aware that Credit Book balances must be used by the close of business (3pm) on December 24th. With the gift-giving season just around the corner, now is an excellent time to stop by and browse the numerous gift possibilities. With new arrivals, I’m confident we can help you with your holiday list. As always, we will gladly gift-wrap your purchases.

$uper $ale: Our annual “$uper $ale” will take place December 27th through 30th (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday). Monday Outings for 2010: If your business is interested in hosting a private outing on a Monday in 2010, now is the time to get a date booked as we currently have a few dates already booked. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Chris Reis or myself for further information. The staff at LFCC is confident that your outing will be the talk of the town.

Additionally, LFCC offers an excellent venue to host small groups throughout the season. We would be happy to discuss hosting your group in the coming season.

Driving Range: The driving range is now closed for the season. It was a pleasure serving your practice needs all the way through November 22nd, the longest Range season ever here at LFCC.

Again, on behalf of The Buscombes Family (Harriet, Willie, Bissie and myself), thank you for your participation, support and patronage. LFCC is a very special place, and it is such an honor to be part of the LFCC family.

In closing, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a safe, healthy and joyous holiday season. May 2010 bring you fairway bound tee shots, accurate approach shots, and a putter as hot as a habanero pepper.

Sincerely,
